The Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner for Macs lets you easily convert your paper archives into a searchable digital library of PDFs. With an easy one-touch PDF creation process, nothing could be simpler: The scanner will automatically distinguish between color documents and black and white ones, automatically recognize the size of each page, automatically straighten images, and automatically delete blank pages. Included are an automatic document feeder and the ability to scan in duplex mode, enabling the ScanSnap to scan at up to 18 pages per minute. The ScanShop uses a USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 compatible) interface for wide compatibility and fast data connection. The ScanSnap supports Mac OS X 10.2.8, 10.3, and 10.4 and includes a copy of Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and a copy of ABBYY FineReader.

The scanner uses two color CCDs for scanning at an optical resolution of up to 600 dpi. The scanner-supported size range includes A4, A5, A6, B5, B6, business cards, letter, legal, and custom sizes from a minimum of 2 by 2 inches to a maximum of 8.5 by 14.17 inches. Even though it scans paper of all sizes, the scanner itself has a compact angular design that takes less space on your desktop than a letter-size piece of paper. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M is backed by a 1-year warranty.

- Fantastic scanner
I have the smaller S300M at home and recommend both. The S510M is fast, scan quality is great, and best of all it just plain works like it's supposed to.

We've gone completely paperless for records retention at my office thanks to this scanner.

- Quick and Easy
The Fujitsu ScanSnap S510M is easy to use and produces great results. It scans very quickly and is remarkably compact. The bundled Acrobat Pro is a great value as well, retailing for over $400. We've converted some complicated pages from image to text using the included OCR software with good results. I wish I'd purchased it sooner.

After using the ScanSnap for over 1 month daily and scanning in over 1000 pages I would recommend this product. One negative - the unit comes with OEM Adobe Professional 8.0, not 9.0 and no free or inexpensive upgrade path for the user.

The ScanSnap S510M scanner has enabled me to access data from hard copy that used to be filed away in God-only-knows-what folders! And, since I live in two separate places, it now resides in my computer in pdf format. Now, if I can only figure out how to use Adobe Acrobat...

- Extremely efficient package
The scanner is extremely fast and provides very good quality. The software included (Acrobat Professional, and ABFFY OCR software) is easily worth half the cost of the 5510M package; the OCR recognition has been literally perfect while scanning a couple of textbooks that I wanted to digitize to carry around with my laptop. The whole package has been dynamite and I highly recommend it for Mac users.
