Done in 14 Seconds Now, scanning is faster than ever. In about 14 seconds, you can scan a letter-size color original such as an article, or a page from your notebook or textbook.
Shadow-Free Scans Typically, when you scan a page from a book, the shadow from the book's inside "gutter" shows up on the scan. No more. Gutter Shadow Correction eliminates that shadow, providing a clean scan of just the page and not the gutter.

Good scanner, good price, but I am a linux user and it simply does not recognize. I had used the LiDE20 before and it had worked with Linux. My assumption that this model will also work was completely wrong, I should have checked linux forums before ordering it. Now I am forced to use it on a dumb Windows machine.
Canon this is not fair.
Will try using it through Wine but doubt it will work as the USB device is not recognized in the first place.

I have used this for a few months now, I had family photo's from the 1940's to date, thousands of photo's to place on a disk. This scanner worked so quickly and quietly I was extremely pleased to leave this review. The quality of the scans, went far beyond my expectations, and the software was adequate for most photos that need retouched.
I've gone through thick yearbooks, newspaper clippings, and shiny magazines and consistently was impressed with the quality of each photo. I've used the ... Read More

I bought this scanner because I had purchased digital frames for all my kids, and I wanted to go through our family photos and load the best of them into the frames. When I priced the cost of having someone else do the scanning, I discovered that stores wanted at least a dollar a scan. Since I was going to have at least one hundred photos, I decided that buying my own scanner was the way to go.
This scanner was up and running in about ten minutes. First, load the software, then connect ... Read More

I just recieved my scanner and I was scanning/croping and saving pictures 15 minutes after taking it out of the box. It's so easy, with one click you are done. I put 6 photos on the glass and it cropped and saved all of them in the destination folder. The scans look great from photos from the late 40's,early 50's.

This scanner looked promising. Nice footprint, easy user interface. Despite stating it is totally compatible with Vista however, it would not work at all with my new Dell Latitude E6400. After 4 hours on the telephone with both Canon and Dell, their technicians also concluded that it just would not work.
This was an incredibly frustrating experience, although Canon's technical support was pretty thorough.
